BENEFITS
Media built for cooling and humidification
Effective moisture distribution
The structured glass fiber matrix absorbs and distributes water to support evaporative cooling and humidification.
Airflow-conscious selection
Low-resistance media supports airflow through the wetted section. Select the media configuration around your system’s airflow and pressure-drop requirements.
Inorganic glass fiber construction
An alternative to cellulose-based media for projects specifying an inorganic media substrate. AFC can help review the product information required for your application.
APPLICATIONS
Match the media to your cooling system
Evaporative media provides a wetted surface where water can evaporate into a passing airstream. The cooling effect depends on entering air conditions, airflow, media configuration, and water distribution.
Direct evaporative cooling and humidification
In direct systems, air passes through wetted media, reducing its dry-bulb temperature while adding moisture. Suitability depends on the facility’s temperature and humidity requirements and the system’s controls.
Indirect evaporative cooling applications
Indirect systems use a separate airstream and a heat exchanger to provide cooling without intentionally adding moisture to the supply airstream. Where the equipment incorporates a wetted-media section, replacement media must be selected for that specific section and equipment design.
Not every data center cooling system uses evaporative media. Share your equipment details so AFC can review whether this product is appropriate for your application.
PRODUCT DETAIL
A closer look at the media
AFC supplies EFS inorganic glass fiber evaporative media for cooling and humidification applications. Its impregnated glass fiber matrix is designed to promote water absorption and distribution while maintaining low airflow resistance.

Coordinate the next steps
Request a quote, confirm availability and lead time, and discuss delivery timing. If installation support is needed, include the site location and scope so AFC can review service availability.
FAQ
Questions about data center evaporative media
Is this the same as an air filter?
No. Evaporative media is primarily a wetted surface for cooling and humidification. It does not replace the particulate filtration specified for your air-handling system.
Can it replace the media in our existing equipment?
Compatibility must be reviewed for the equipment and operating conditions. Share the manufacturer, model, existing media information, and dimensions. Size alone does not establish a suitable replacement.
Does evaporative cooling add humidity to the data hall?
Direct evaporative cooling adds moisture to the treated airstream. Indirect evaporative cooling keeps the evaporatively treated airstream separate from the supply airstream through a heat exchanger. The effect on the data hall depends on the equipment configuration and controls.
How often should the media be inspected or replaced?
Follow the equipment manufacturer’s inspection and maintenance guidance. Media condition and replacement timing depend on operating hours, water quality, deposits, physical condition, and changes in system performance. Include observations or photos with your inquiry if you are assessing a replacement.
What should I send for a quote?
Include the media height, width, depth, quantity, equipment information, and delivery location. Photos, drawings, existing part numbers, and your target project date can help clarify the request. If some details are unknown, send what you have.
